Sharing Your App

By default, your published apps are only visible to you. You can change their visibility by going to the Settings Plotly Cloud app Settings icon and selecting the Sharing tab.

Two options are available:

Public: Your app is visible to everyone who has the app URL.
Private: Your app is visible only to Plotly Cloud users with whom you have shared it (and yourself). Private app sharing is available if you are on the Pro plan or higher. This option is called Only me otherwise.

To share a private app with others, enter their email addresses and then select Share.

You can share a private app with someone even if they haven't signed up to Plotly Cloud yet. They'll be able to access your app as soon as they create their account.

Users who have access to your private app are listed under the Share with users field. Select Remove Plotly Cloud Delete Settings icon to remove their access.

Select Copy to quickly copy the URL for a public or private app so that you can send it to your app's intended audience. Note that users do not receive emails when you share a private app with them.

Warning

Be careful about editing the app URL after you have sent it. Plotly Cloud does not automatically redirect your app visitors to the new URL if they try to use the old one.
